About Scott AFB
Scott Air Force Base is a United States Air Force base in St. Clair County, Illinois. It was founded in 1917 and is named after Corporal Frank S. Scott, the first enlisted person to be killed in an aviation crash. Scott AFB is the headquarters of the United States Transportation Command, the Air Mobility Command, and the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command.
